On July 30, in the third Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka, Rinku Singh was unexpectedly sent on to deliver the penultimate over, shocking everyone. Rinku picked two wickets and gave up three runs, thus the hosts had six wickets at their disposal and just needed nine runs in 12 balls. India managed to drag the match to a Super Over, demonstrating the significance of the 19th over. Rinku seemed to be the most appropriate, according to Suryakumar.
It is noteworthy that with one over remaining, the India skipper could have chosen Khaleel Ahmed or Mohammed Siraj.
Later, Suryakumar gave up just five runs in the 19th over, allowing India to win the Super Over thanks to Washington Sundar’s two wickets
Only three runs were lost in the over. Mr. 360 went on to say that bowling the twentieth over was simple, but there was some dust to be settled in the penultimate over.
Making a selection for the 20th over was simple; the 19th over presented more challenge. Siraj and some others still had their leftovers. However, I thought Rinku was more qualified on that wicket since I had watched him bowl and because I forced him to spend a lot of time at the nets. According to TOI, Suryakumar stated, “I took that call because I felt it was the right thing to do.”

“I was aware that Indian cricket has historically had difficulty in the 19th over (laughter). Rinku was given the task because of this. When a right-hander bowls to a left-hander, the batter always finds it challenging. I now have another bowling option going ahead, so it’s excellent that he made the most of his skill and made my work easier,” he continued.
In Kandy, India defeated Sri Lanka to win the T20I series.
India won the T20I series 3-0 thanks to the victory, and attention will now turn to the ODI series, which will start on August 2 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
