As England defeated the West Indies by 241 runs in the second Test of their three-match ICC World Test Championship series, Harry Brook, an English batsman, reached a career-high third place in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings.
The men’s rankings are updated every Wednesday across all formats. Harry Brook, who scored 36 and 109 in Nottingham, moved up four spots in the most recent weekly update. His teammates Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope have also made notable advances.
With scores of 71 and 76, left-handed opener Duckett has moved up six spots to 16th place, while Player of the Match Pope has moved up from 29th to 21st place with scores of 121 and 51.
After ending with four wickets for 84 and two for 28 in the match, Chris Woakes has returned to the top 20 of the bowling rankings for the first time since September 2021. Meanwhile, spinner Shoaib Bashir has moved up eight spots to 53rd place after taking his third five-wicket haul in just five Test matches.
With scores of 48 and 47, West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite has risen two spots to 40th place. Other notable advancements include wicketkeeper Joshua de Silva, who has gone up seven spots to 61st place, Jason Holder, who has moved up two spots to 70th place, and Kavem Hodge, who has moved up 21 places to 75th place.
Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales, two of the West Indies’ new-ball bowlers, have had significant rises in their rankings. Joseph went from 44th to 33rd position with five wickets in the match, while Seales went from 44th to 34th place with six wickets.
Bernard Scholtz, a left-arm spinner from Namibia, finished with three wickets for twenty-three against Scotland in an ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 match, propelling him to a career-high sixth place in the ODI rankings.
George Munsey of Scotland and skipper Gerhard Erasmus of Namibia are two players who have risen in the batting rankings as a result of their results in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2. Munsey has moved up seven spots to 41st place, and Erasmus has moved up four spots to 27th.

England is ranked sixth in the ICC World Test Championship standings, while the West Indies are ranked ninth based on the percentage points needed to qualify.
