Mohammad Shami, the prominent Indian bowler, is in the epicentre of a fierce dispute. Shami’s recent remarks about Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former captain of Pakistan, have come under heavy fire from a number of sources, including former cricketer Basit Ali.
Inzamam-ul-Haq’s claims of ball tampering against Indian bowlers during previous ICC events are the source of the dispute. According to Inzamam, India utilised modified balls with chips inserted in them to give themselves an unfair swing bowling advantage.
During the 2024 T20 World Cup match against Australia, Arshdeep Singh was specifically the target of these claims.
In response to these claims, Shami called Inzamam’s words “cartoonish remarks.” There has been criticism against the Indian pacer as a result of the word choice, which has offended several Pakistani players. Particularly Ali has been outspoken in his dissatisfaction and criticism of Shami.
“It is inappropriate for Shami to refer to Inzi bhai as a cartoon when discussing him. This nation has been commanded and captained by Inzamam. Shami, you didn’t use the best word choice. While we commend your bowling, you ought to have chosen your remarks more carefully. I was upset by your poor word choice, Ali stated, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Ali underlined the need of showing experienced players respect. He asked the pacer to refrain from making disparaging remarks about some of the game’s greatest players.

The former Pakistani celebrity wasn’t holding back when he criticised Shami, calling his remarks offensive.
