Pakistani cricket and controversy go hand in hand. Babar Azam had to address speculations about his conflict with Shaheen Afridi during the T20 World Cup 2022 before boarding the India trip in advance of the World Cup 2023. Afridi and Mohammad Yousuf, Pakistan’s batting coach, are allegedly at odds over a recent incident. Former cricketer Atiq Uz Zaman has denounced the altercation.
Yousuf told the renowned Pakistani pacer that he had overstepped the line when bowling in the nets. He is said to have urged the veteran to shut up, and both fans and commentators have criticised the story severely. In his remarks on the matter, Zaman said that Afridi disregarded the coach’s advice and showed no respect for older players like Yousuf.
Yousuf is a member of the group. They can offer bowlers advice if they are assigned responsibility for the nets. The no-ball problem is serious. Bowling without balls in the nets develops become a habit. Players who bowl without a ball in practice have also been observed to do so during games, according to Zaman, who was cited by Sports Tak.
Shaheen Afridi shouldn’t have stated what he did if Mohammad Yousuf bhai had said that. These are only rumours, therefore I’m not sure if he made them or not. I’m somewhat unhappy if he did, as Shaheen Afridi is not as well-known as Yousuf Bhai. Thus, he came to realise that respect is a concept. You should just focus on following the coach’s instructions and avoid bowling no-ball in the nets, he continued.
Not every game may be played by Shaheen Afridi or Naseem Shah: Gillespie
Jason Gillespie, a former pacer for Australia, was named Pakistan’s Test match coach, and he insisted on keeping Afridi and Naseem Shah, the team’s most valuable players, busy. In addition to being essential members of the team, both players have represented their country in a number of franchise competitions around the globe, most notably The Hundred, Big Bash League, and Lanka Premier League.

“In addition to playing in franchise cricket, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah are multi-format cricket players. They are unable to participate in every game. We’ll make an effort to let them relax during the less significant games. Shaheen has bowled three times as many as Mitchell Starc in the last year. How is he going to handle this much work? We must tend to him,” Gillespie remarked.
