From July 19 to 22, Colombo will host the International Cricket Council’s Annual Conference. The ICC will gather in Colombo for the upcoming meeting after its annual conference in Durban in 2023. This event is important for obvious reasons, since it is scheduled a few weeks after the conclusion of the 2024 T20 World Cup, which the USA and the West Indies are co-hosting.
This will be the first time the three-day (sunday excluded) conclave has been held in the Asian subcontinent. According to a news release from Sri Lanka Cricket, the great cricket symposium would bring together over 220 participants from 108 ICC member nations, representing Africa, the Americas, Asia, East Asia Pacific, and Europe.
The ICC Annual Conference, the world’s preeminent gathering of cricket administrators and stakeholders, provides a platform for discussions on the sport’s strategic direction, governance concerns, and the advancement of cricket worldwide.
The conference’s theme, “Capitalising on the Olympic Opportunity,” will cover topics including “Cricket’s Resurgence at LA28,” “Environmental Sustainability and the Sport,” and “Diversity and Inclusion.”

The yearly conference will feature a wide range of critical seminars, workshops, and networking events where important choices will be discussed and put into action to determine the direction the sport will go in the future.
There can also be discussions about the chairman’s term. A suggestion has been made to decrease the maximum number of terms from three to two and increase the chairman’s term from two to three years, according to previous reports from Cricbuzz.
