West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales recounted how Mikyle Louis’ powerful hit to dismiss Shaoib Bashir disrupted their plan to honour James Anderson in his farewell Test. The event occurred on Day 2 at Lord’s as the great bowler batted maybe for the last time.
Louis couldn’t grab debutant Jamie Smith’s deep cover pass. He grabbed the ball and rocketed it to the non-striker, sending Bashir packing. He was well short of his crease, with West Indies players delighted after a difficult day with the ball.
Visitors forgot to honour Anderson during the festivities. Seales discussed the event after the game and said Jason Holder reached out to him on behalf of the team.

I’m honoured to play with him in my first game. All will miss him when he leaves. “I’d be worried if he has to bat in the second innings, so hopefully he can get wickets with the ball,” Smith said after the day’s play.
