Before Rahul Dravid, Rohit Sharma made the offer to forfeit his T20 World Cup incentive
It has been revealed that, even before to head coach Rahul Dravid’s much acclaimed action, India captain Rohit Sharma had offered to forfeit his portion of the T20 World Cup 2024 bonus money in order to guarantee equitable compensation for all support staff.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) granted the squad a substantial bonus of INR 125 crore after India’s historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory. Different amounts were assigned to different team members and support staff in the first distribution plan.

Rohit was not happy with how the prize money was divided up among the support personnel, as per a story in Dainik Jagran. In order to make sure that every support staff member was fairly compensated for their contributions to the team’s victory, the skipper, who was scheduled to receive INR 5 crore, offered to give away his part.

A team member who spoke with the reporter on the chartered flight returning from Barbados to India provided this information. The insider disclosed Rohit’s apprehension regarding the imbalanced allocation and his readiness to relinquish his portion in favour of others.

Originally expected to receive INR 5 crore, Dravid decided to take only half of that sum, bringing himself on level with other members of the coaching staff who were expected to receive INR 2.5 lakh apiece.
