In preparation for the last Test, James Anderson selects the best batter he has faced.

James Anderson, one of cricket’s best fast bowlers, will play his final Test match for England against the West Indies at Lord’s on Wednesday, July 10, as the world gets ready to say goodbye to him. Anderson has a remarkable career lasting more than 20 years, leaving a legacy that will be difficult to top.

With his retirement, Anderson’s career in English cricket comes to an end. Since making his debut for his country in 2002, he has seen the sport change, from Test cricket’s dominance to the emergence of T20 leagues.

His preference for playing Test cricket over white-ball formats has had a significant impact on both the success of the English team and his own career. The top players James Anderson has faced were discussed, along with reflections on his career, in a recent Q&A session with Sky Sports Cricket.

Remarkably, when asked who the best hitter he has bowled to was, Anderson named former Indian star Sachin Tendulkar, ignoring modern greats like Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. In 39 Test matches against India, Anderson took 149 wickets and nine wickets off Tendulkar.

He declared, “I have to say that Sachin Tendulkar is the best batter.”

The seasoned bowler also offered his opinions on the top bowlers he has faced, mentioning South African quick Dale Steyn and Australian star Glenn McGrath.

“Dale Steyn or Glenn McGrath was probably the best bowler I faced.” Both are difficult to choose from. Both bowlers are world-class, if slightly different,” he continued.

Professional success His 81 at Trent Bridge is what I am most proud of: James Anderson

While there have been many noteworthy moments in James Anderson career, he identified his removal of Michael Clarke in the 2013 Trent Bridge Test as his finest wicket. It’s interesting to note that Anderson mentioned his batting performance as his favourite professional accomplishment when questioned.

“Professional accomplishment” His 81 against India at Trent Bridge is the accomplishment of which I am most proud. “It is still unbelievable to me that I am able to score 81 runs with the bat, even though I know I should probably be picking wickets or bowling well,” James Anderson continued.

With 700 Test wickets under his belt and 13 more to go, the right-arm quick is on track to become the first fast bowler and third cricketer overall to earn 1000 international wickets as he gets ready for his 188th. He would tie Shane Warne’s record of 708 wickets if he took nine wickets in his final Test match, making him the second best wicket-taker in Test cricket history.
