James Anderson is excited but wants to set his feelings aside for the final test

James Anderson, an England pacer, is nearing retirement. The experienced seamer had no plans to put up his boots, but with Ashes 2025 just eighteen months away, the team administration wants to move on and create a fresh seam assault. After acknowledging that he couldn’t promise to be available for the series—which is still a long way off—Anderson declared his retirement.

James Anderson will play his last Test match in the international cricket circuit at Lord’s against the West Indies.

The 41-year-old said before the game that he was quite emotional and hoped he wouldn’t cry during or after it. Anderson continued by saying that he is thrilled and delighted that his friends and supporters are supporting him during what he called “a strange couple of months.”

The Burnley-born pacer continued on the eve of his farewell game, saying he is prepared to enjoy the coming week and is not attempting to concentrate too much about the game and his final outing.

I’m trying not to think about the game or my feelings towards it too much just yet. I’m making every effort to maintain my focus. My main goals for this week are to win, play well, and bowl well. I really am attempting to concentrate on it. I’m sure my feelings may vary throughout the week, but for now, that’s what I’m attempting to concentrate on to keep myself from crying, Anderson was cited by ESPNcricinfo.

Having a large number of friends and relatives visit for the week is a positive thing, in my opinion. Many folks who I’ve encountered out and about or who have stopped me in the street have told me they are attending the game. He continued, “I’m simply looking forward to the week.
