After the opening Test match between the West Indies and the United States at Lord’s on July 10, the renowned bowler James Anderson is scheduled to complete his career in cricket. The Ben Stokes-led team chose to start again in the summer with many of options available for selection, and the most successful seamer in history was urged to call it quits.
Anderson might not, however, leave the national team. Rob Key, the managing director of England, stated that the 41-year-old is a valuable asset who can mentor the younger pacers on the side. James Anderson has expressed interest in accepting the team’s invitation to serve as a mentor, Key continued, but the cricket player has not yet accepted the offer. Though nothing is official, there are rumours that the Burnley-born cricket player may continue to play County cricket for Lancashire.
After James Anderson retires, a choice will be made, but for now, the ball is still in his court.
