Following his triumph in Barbados, Rohit Sharma's social media post reappears, stating, "People have questioned whether I deserve to be on the team for the World Cup."

On Saturday, June 29, in the T20 World Cup Final versus South Africa, Rohit Sharma added another feather to his storied crown. When his IPL team, the Mumbai Indians, decided to try Hardik Pandya as a potential prospect, months earlier this year, a contentious dispute resulted, and Rohit was named captain of the national squad for the event.

Although Rohit’s leadership and captaincy have never been questioned, the Nagpur native has drawn a lot of flak for his awful batting performances. The cricket player has also come under fire from certain online followers for his membership in the squad and level of fitness despite being considered “fat.” But Rohit Sharma’s personality is such that he would rather use his performances to silence everyone, and this is nothing new.

An old social media post from the cricket player has emerged on the internet, and the fans are loving it since it shows the Hitman’s unwavering, self-assured demeanour. This comes just after the Men in Blue lifted the prestigious silverware, ending their trophy drought under Rohit’s leadership.

Rohit Sharma had posted on microblogging network X (previously Twitter) back on April 17, 2010, saying, “People have questioned whether I deserve to be on the team for the world cup, I prefer to answer with my bat:) :),”

The elite cricket player’s attention will now be focused on participating in the game’s more traditional formats. Remember that the 37-year-old captain of the ODI and Test teams is still in place, and he might stay that way until the World Test Championship Final in 2025 and the Champions Trophy in Pakistan in 2025. With three ICC trophies under his captaincy, the legendary Mahendra Singh Dhoni may become the most successful Indian captain if he can guide the team to a run of glory in the forthcoming tournament.
