Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), made his way out to the outfield to congratulate Rohit Sharma and his squad on their incredible feat. The Chief Executive of the ICC, Geoff Allardice, highlighted the historical significance of the 2024 edition prior to the event starting and the significant prize money that was awarded to teams and players alike. The ICC awarded $2.45 million (INR 20.42 crore) in cash to India, the winner of the main event.
In the meantime, Shubman Gill will be captaining a redesigned Indian team for the Men in Blue’s upcoming five-match Twenty20 International series in Zimbabwe. Due to their outstanding performances in the IPL 2024, young players like as Abhishek Sharma and Riyan Parag were rewarded with a national call-up.
