WATCH: Rohit Sharma breaks down in tears after India reach T20WC’24 final; Virat Kohli's reaction surfaces

On Thursday, June 27, Team India trounced England by 68 runs at Providence Stadium in Guyana, moving them closer to the T20 World Cup 2024 final. Following their invitation to bat first, the Rohit Sharma-led team amassed 171 runs thanks to a standout 57-run innings from the captain and a 36-ball 47 from Suryakumar Yadav.

After that, they easily won the match by dismissing their English rivals for 103 in 16.4 overs. Even though the Men in Blue are now only one victory away from creating history, their captain, Rohit Sharma, was spotted sobbing following the team’s comfortable victory in Guyana. As he sat down on the dressing room balcony, the 36-year-old became upset and was seen crying after he greeted the players.

Speaking specifically about Rohit Sharma, the 36-year-old accomplished an incredible hat-trick by making it to the final of each of the three major ICC events in a single year. In June 2023, the Men in Blue advanced to the World Test Championship final, the ODI World Cup 2023, and now the T20 World Cup, all under Rohit Sharma’s direction. Sharma is now a member of the exclusive group of captains who have led Team India to victories in all formats, together with former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson.
