"Only a game," Rohit said on the semifinal match.

According to Rohit Sharma, India will not want to highlight the fact that this Thursday’s semifinal matchup with England is a knockout match; instead, it will be treated like any other game. In order to relieve the team of some of the burden, the Indian players will make an effort to forget the setting.

“We want to approach this match as though it were like another one we’ve played in the competition. We don’t want to consider what is going to happen next, the game’s context, or anything else like that. Everyone is aware that this is a semifinal in the back of their minds. However, you don’t want to bring up the subject repeatedly. and not to dwell on the past,” the captain of India stated the night before the Georgetown semifinal.

With the exception of their World Cup match against Canada, which was rained out in Miami, India has won every match. He believed that the players would not be benefiting themselves if they focused too much on the knockout format of the competition. “Everyone in the group is feeling positive. We are working well together as a team, having fun in each other’s company and occasionally celebrating each other’s victories. The captain stated, “I think it’s important to just keep doing what we’ve been doing in this tournament.”

The Indian squad has been without an ICC Trophy for some time now. They also lost the World Test Championship (WTC) final thrice, the ODI World Cup final last year in India, and the semifinal of the T20 World Cup in 2022 in Australia.

The final is too far away, therefore we don’t want to worry about it. In order to attain the desired outcome, we want to consider our individual and team performance as well as our ability to work together. On the pitch, you might find that overanalyzing anything prevents you from making the decisions you want to make. Therefore, I believe it’s critical that we maintain our focus on our goals. We’ve talked enough with the players about what’s required of each of us.

Regarding the team’s strategy for the match, Rohit stated, “So, it’s time to just rely on the individual instinct and then take the game forward.”

The captain of India refuted the idea that they had an advantage since they know where they would play in the semifinals, something England was not aware of. The International Cricket Council (ICC) made this choice in an effort to better serve its largest business constituency. It’s not a benefit, in my opinion. Many of these English cricket players have undoubtedly played here before. To win a cricket match, you ultimately need to play good cricket. Nobody has any influence over the overhead conditions.”

Arshdeep Singh is allegedly tampering with the ball to get reverse swing, according to Inzamam ul Haq. “The ball was reversing when Ashdeep Singh bowled the fifteenth over. Is using the new ball for a reverse swing too soon? This indicates that by the 12th or 13th over, the ball was prepared for reverse swing. Umpires ought to be alert for these things.

There would have been serious problems if the ball had been reverse-slung by Pakistani bowlers. The former captain of Pakistan was cited by numerous media sites as saying, “We know reverse swing very well, and if Arshdeep Singh can come in the 15th over and start reversing the ball, it means some serious work had been done before.”

In response, Rohit said, “What should I say about this now? The ball automatically reverses, the surface is extremely dry, and you are playing in a scorching sun. Not just our squad, but all the teams are experiencing it. Each and every team is swinging in reverse. At times, it’s critical to have an open mind and comprehend the environment in which you’re performing. The game is not being played in Australia or England. I’ll say it like that.”
