Rashid Khan was found guilty of violating the ICC Code of Conduct during Bangladesh's match in the 2024 T20 World Cup

Rashid Khan has been fined for violating the ICC Code of Conduct on June 25, the day of the T20 World Cup 2024 match against Bangladesh. Because he violated Article 2.9 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, the Afghanistan captain was placed under arrest. During an international match, it is against the Code of Conduct to throw a ball or any other cricket prop at or near a player in a way that could be considered disrespectful or dangerous.

The leg-spinner has received one demerit point even though he was able to escape facing a game ban. Since this is the cricket player’s first infraction in 24 months, the frequency of the actions is lower. The accusations came from third umpire Adrian Holdstock, fourth umpire Ahsan Raza, and on-field umpires Nitin Menon and Langton Rusere.

Rashid Khan violated the Level 1 category, which is punishable by up to two demerit points and 50% of the match money.

In the final over of Afghanistan’s innings, Rashid was batting with Karim Janat. The spinner was furious that Karim Janat had denied him a second run, and he smacked his bat on the ground to vent his fury. Following the event, it was said that the right-arm spinner accepted the punishment suggested by Richie Richardson of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and acknowledged committing the infraction.
