Star Australian opener Travis Head has surpassed India’s Suryakumar Yadav to take the top spot in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings. For a while now, Head has been playing at a very high level. In the T20 World Cup 2024, Head saved the best for last following a spectacular IPL season.
Head had a strong innings against India in his last T20 World Cup match, making 76 runs in a losing effort.
In the men’s T20I batting rankings, he shot up four ranks as Phil Salt, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Suryakumar Yadav all fell a spot.
Additionally, Johnson Charles of the West Indies, who moved up four spots, is the newest player to join the top ten men’s T20I batting rankings. It was not, however, a celebration for the Australians, as Marcus Stoinis’ brief tenure as the world’s top all-rounder came to an end as he dropped to fourth place.
According to the most recent rankings, Afghanistan’s Muhammad Nabi was ranked second, Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka regained the top rank, and star all-arounder Hardik Pandya of India moved up to third. Out of all the all-rounders, West Indies’ Roston Chase made the highest leap, rising 17 spots to finish in 12th place.
There are slight alterations to bowler rankings.
Additionally, there were some modifications to the men’s T20I bowler rankings. Adil Rashid of England remained at the top of the rankings, while Rashid Khan, an outstanding spinner, rose to second place as a result of his heroics in the T20 World Cup 2024, leading Afghanistan to the tournament’s semifinals.

The top-ranked leg spinner in Sri Lanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, is ranked second, while Australian bowler Josh Hazlewood rose from seventh to fourth. Kuldeep Yadav of India rose 20 ranks to take 11th place, and Jasprit Bumrah rose 44 points to take 24th place. Moreover, Jofra Archer, an Englishman, moved up 19 to 38th after making an incredible comeback from injuries. There may be further ranking adjustments as the T20 World Cup 2024 draws to a close.
