T20 World Cup 2024: After Uganda's inaugural campaign, Kane Williamson gives them his signed shirt
Even though they had a disappointing tournament at the T20 World Cup 2024, New Zealand managed to sneak a victory.

Following a pair of losses, the Kiwis were able to outscore Uganda by nine wickets in the third encounter. They lost their first two games in the group round, dashigning their hopes of making it to the Super 8. The Blackcaps gave their peers a signed jersey by Kane Williamson following the victory over Uganda.

Conversely, Uganda’s campaign came to an end with just one victory out of four group stage matches. They were victorious over Papua New Guinea but defeated by Afghanistan, the West Indies, and New Zealand. Afghanistan and the West Indies advanced to the Super 8 stage, joining Group C, which also included New Zealand and Uganda.

At the top level, the teams are receiving greater attention: Williamson

The bad forms that were carried by their star players tormented New Zealand. Players with terrible bat form included Devon Conway, Kane Williamson, Finn Allen, and Daryl Mitchell. Tim Southee’s absence from the opening match against Afghanistan raised concerns about their bowling at the death. Only one wicket was taken by Mitchell Santner in the opening games. Williamson emphasised the significance of Ugandan teams participating in ICC competitions.

“Our boys performed well. was a rough terrain. Little control over concepts and procedures. That changed things. It is preferable to play this style in this match because we witnessed how distinctive it was in the previous one. The teams are developing as a unit as a result of increased exposure at the greatest level. It’s always a terrific experience to learn from to have that exposure. Retraining and playing are required. The same conversations over and over. We’ll relax and play again in a few days. We’ve been sensitive of the conditions,” Williamson stated during the post-game press conference.
