‘We will accept whatever happens’ - Haris Rauf doesn't care about the calculations or Super 8 qualifying

Pakistan is confident that they would advance to the Super 8 of the current T20 World Cup 2024 after defeating Canada in their most recent game. Their chances were made more difficult by narrow losses to the USA and India, but a victory in the most recent game elevated them. But there are still a lot of factors that have to happen in favour of the side led by Babar Azam.

In their last league game, Pakistan must defeat Ireland, while the Americans must lose their final game against the same opponent. The team with a higher net run rate (NRR) will advance in that scenario when it enters the equation. But Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf made it clear before the team’s match against the Irish that they are more focused on playing good cricket than they are on credentials and maths.

Nothing similar is happening in our minds, I assure you. Our match and our style of play are our sole priorities. At the news conference following the match, Rauf stated, “If we win, then we will accept whatever happens,” as reported by India Today.

You do realise how crucial winning is, though. Every tournament needs a starting point, and since we prevailed in this one, we’ll concentrate on our next game with the hopes of winning it as well. God willing, we will qualify and play terrific cricket in the future, he continued, regardless of what else occurs.

On June 16, Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, will host the Babar Azam-led team’s last group match. The weather isn’t looking good, and there’s a high chance that rain may cancel the game, according to reports. Due to rain, Sri Lanka’s match against Nepal was cancelled. If Pakistan’s match against Ireland is cancelled as well, the Men in Green would not advance to the Super 8. In that scenario, India and the USA will advance.
