Upon observing this, one of the most well-respected figures in Indian cricket, Harbhajan Singh, took to his social media account to criticise Akmal’s statements and offensive remarks.
Following India’s exciting six-run victory over Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in New York, former Pakistani wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal made racist statements directed towards Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh on a live webcast. The outrage over Akmal’s disrespectful remarks, which seemed to make fun of Arshdeep’s Sikh faith, has been directed on Indian spin legend Harbhajan Singh.
The incident happened during the last over of Pakistan’s chase, as Akmal was doing analysis on a Pakistani news channel. With six balls remaining and 18 runs needed, the pundits debated if Arshdeep could be hit for a run. At that point, Akmal made the contentious claim.
“As you know, it’s already 12; Arshdeep Singh is supposed to bowl the final over. No Sikh shall be given after 12,” he declared during a live performance in Pakistan.
“Kamraan Akhmal tere laanat lakh. Before opening your disgusting lips, you ought to be aware of the history of the Sikhs. It was always at twelve o’clock when we Sikhs rescued your moms and sisters from the clutches of invaders. Disgrace to you.Please show some gratitude.” Harbhajan quickly retaliated against Akmal by using his ‘X’ handle.

In the match against Pakistan, Jasprit Bumrah received Player of the Match for his 3/14.
Regarding the game, Jasprit Bumrah’s 3/14 helped India maintain a modest total of 119 through consistent bowling action. Pakistan, who concluded with 113/7 and a dismal record versus India at World Cup tournaments, lost by six runs despite a patient 31 from Mohammad Rizwan.

Arshdeep Singh, notably, gave up 31 runs in four overs while taking one wicket. In the 20th over, after Imad Wasim had scored 15 runs off of 23 balls, he was removed. Assigned the task of defending eighteen runs, the left-arm seamer did so with great success, giving up just eleven runs to help India win spectacularly.
