At the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday, June 9, India defeated Pakistan in a low-scoring thriller.
The toss was lost, and IND chose to bat first to start the game. After a poor batting display in the first inning, India could only muster a meagre 119 runs. But the Men in Blue made the most of the ball, and after a moment when it seemed the game was going away, India rallied to win it.
The official Delhi Police X (previously known as Twitter) account took to social media following the game and posted a humorous tweet about it. “Hey, @NYPDnews, there were two loud noises heard. One is “IND,” while the other is most likely from televisions that are broken. Could you kindly confirm? Police in Delhi tweeted.

India wins its second straight match thanks to outstanding bowling.
When it came to the game, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma left the team after 13 and 4 runs, respectively. Subsequently, Axar Patel left the field for twenty runs, and Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube could not muster much more than three and seven runs, respectively.
IND scored 119 runs in the first inning, but Rishabh Pant was the player who contributed most to the innings’ stabilisation with 42 runs in 31 deliveries. The two most prolific wicket-takers for Pakistan, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, each claimed three wickets. In addition, Mohammad Amir claimed two wickets, while Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed one.

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam scored 13 and 31 runs, respectively, as Pakistan attempted to chase down the mark. Fakhar Zaman, Imad Wasim, and Usman Khan scored 13, 13, and 15 runs apiece, meaning that the middle order was unable to muster much of an impact.
Pakistan was in a situation in which they needed to score one run on every ball, but India took the game away from them quickly. As India won the match by six runs, Jasprit Bumrah claimed three wickets, Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel each took one, and Hardik Pandya scored twice.
