The record books were rewritten by Suryakumar after he scored his third consecutive T20I century without being defeated. He took the fewest number of balls to reach 1,500 runs in the shortest format, making him the player with the fastest time ever.
In Twenty20 International cricket, it took the right-handed hitter only 843 balls to accomplish this landmark, making him the player who reached it the quickest overall. In terms of innings played, he is the third-fastest player to achieve the 1,500-run mark in Twenty20 Internationals.
It took the Indian hitters Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, the Australian veteran Aaron Finch, and the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam 39 innings to score 1,500 runs in T20 Internationals, making them the fastest batters to reach the benchmark in terms of the number of innings it took them.
Both Mohammed Rizwan, the wicketkeeper-batter for Pakistan, and Suryakumar, the batter for Sri Lanka, hit the milestone in 43 of their respective 42 innings.
