Nitish Reddy clarifies the fallout from his remarks about MS Dhoni

Nitish Reddy, a prominent Indian all-round player, had an incredible Indian Premier League (IPL) season with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The middle-order batsman, who was an all-rounder, was instrumental in helping SRH make it to the playoffs. However, the Hyderabad batter’s negative publicity has been well documented. Some of MS Dhoni’s admirers are not pleased with his recent remarks regarding the legendary Indian cricket player.

Between Dhoni and Virat Kohli, Nitish was asked to select the player with the greatest batting skill. The boy went with the latter, claiming that while Dhoni has skill, he lacks technique, much like Kohli. Nitish received criticism after the message swiftly circulated over social media. The 21-year-old did not appear to let up, even after making his position clear. He explained the situation in a recent podcast and talked about how the events affected him and his family.

Yes, I did notice that it went viral on social media. I brought up Mahi bhai, or MS Dhoni, since I think he has a strong mentality and a special talent, but the question was really about the differences in gameplay styles between AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli. I attempted to illustrate how, with that kind of thinking, he became a champion. Perhaps I used bad word choice, which led to the fans understanding it incorrectly and seeing it in the wrong light. You’re all aware of my admiration for him back when I lived at home. In an interview with Cricket OTT on YouTube, Nitish stated, “It was not my intention to draw any comparisons either.”

“I never imagined it would happen this way—due to a misunderstanding about my statement against someone I truly admire—but I expected to encounter negativity based on my performance, like if I failed or went through a hard patch. Seeing the negative response hurts, especially when my comments were misinterpreted. I know hate spreads rapidly on social media, but dealing with it is still difficult,” the all-around SRH player said.

My parents suffered the most because of this. Nitish Reddy

Nitish Kumar Reddy is notable for having a tight relationship with his family, particularly his father. To enable his son to pursue his cricket ambition, his father quit his work at the Hindustan Zinc. Nitish got the chance to train under experts when he was moved to Udaipur and thereafter returned to Visakhapatnam. According to the right-arm pacer, his father was heartbroken by the remarks made against his sister on social media.

“This caused the most suffering for my parents. My father was upset by the remarks because they were directed at my mother and sister. I felt so bad for him, seeing him hurt. Over dinner, I had a discussion with my family about how easily social media can distort and misrepresent things. It’s been difficult, but they are starting to feel a little better. “Hopefully, things will improve soon,” he said in closing.
