Michael Clarke on Rohit Sharma's bad form: "Being the wise judge of his own performances, will undoubtedly be disappointed."

As the T20 World Cup draws near, former Australia captain Michael Clarke has offered his opinions on Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s present batting difficulties. Even though Clarke has acknowledged Sharma’s recent decline in performance, he is upbeat and says there’s no reason to be afraid.

He noted that, despite a strong start to the season, Sharma, who is skilled and perceptive in evaluating his achievements, is probably not happy with his recent performances. Amidst his hectic schedule, which includes captaining the Mumbai Indians in the IPL before the World Cup, Clarke also made a suggestion that Sharma might be feeling worn out.

“Rohit would surely be dissatisfied, especially after such a great start. He is a wise judge of his own performances. I believe he may be experiencing some fatigue as well,” Clarke stated to Star Sports.

Sharma has had a busy schedule leading both his IPL franchise, the Mumbai Indians, and getting ready for the World Cup, which takes place before the IPL. Clarke proposed that taking a break could help Sharma rejuvenate.

“A break to recover could be very beneficial for him, but as the captain of India and a vital member of the Mumbai Indians, you don’t get breaks. “He needs to discover his form,” Clarke went on.

Although Sharma’s recent appearances raised some concerns, Michael Clarke maintained confidence in Sharma’s skills, highlighting that it will just take time for him to return to his regular self.

He had a wonderful attitude. It’s a very positive sign that he is happy. He stated, “It’s just a matter of getting out; he doesn’t seem to be struggling with his timing.”

It will not take long for someone like Rohit to rediscover his form. He’s too good to constantly miss out, so perhaps he can focus on his game and less on stress. He said, “When he’s timing the ball instead of trying to force it, he’s at his best.”

An all-around player’s confidence is increased when they perform well in one area: Michael Clarke

In the midst of Sharma’s difficulties, Hardik Pandya, his World Cup deputy, has been excellent with the bat and the ball. Clarke praised Pandya’s recent performances, particularly his contributions with the ball.

He has been picking up wickets with his bowling in the last few games, adapting as he goes. According to Clarke, an all-around player’s confidence is increased when they perform well in one area.

Hardik Pandya’s ability to contribute with the ball is essential to his cricketing career in any format. In the first part of this competition, he didn’t bowl as much as was anticipated or wanted. But he’s been back to his previous level in the last three or four games. Clarke added that Pandya made good use of his bouncers, another crucial piece of equipment in his arsenal.

“I love seeing him use his bouncer so well; it’s a powerful weapon in his arsenal.” His perfect execution of the fundamentals will improve his performance overall, which is good for Mumbai and Indian cricket overall, according to Michael Clarke.
