Lucknow looked like they were finally gathering steam when KL Rahul struck the opening ball of the tenth over, taking the score to fifty. The next 3.1 overs produced 26 runs without the loss of a wicket, after just 27 runs in the first 6 overs.

In an attempt to relieve some of the burden on the visitors, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni came out swinging. As the two prepared for an attack in the final five overs, the hundred came in fifteen overs.

The two LSG wickets that fell in rapid succession were largely down to Pat Cummins. When T Natarajan caught KL Rahul, he was out for 29. The next thing that happened was that Pat Cummins’s straight hit ran out Krunal Pandya for 24 runs.
Ayush Badoni, half a century, from 28 balls
After the Hyderabad bowlers had tightly controlled the run scoring, young Ayush Badoni saved his team. Along with making a crucial stand alongside Nicholas Pooran, the youthful batter attacked the opposition.

With a first-ball four off Pat Cummins, Ayush Badoni assisted Lucknow in reaching the 150-mark. Nicholas Pooran subsequently smashed the third ball of the final over for yet another four. The final ball of the inning brought more drama after another boundary from Nicholas Pooran off Cummins. Nitish Reddy, who had earlier made a fantastic grab and saved a six, denied Pooran his half-century.
