The middle order appeared to be functioning well for the five-time IPL winner Chennai Super Kings, despite the team having an unpredictable season. The talented all-rounder Shivam Dube led the middle order, and his contributions significantly eased the burden on the other batsmen.
Nonetheless, it appears like Dube’s form has declined as certain batters, such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, have regained form. Many have expressed concern about Dube’s form after two straight golden ducks. Still, the five-time winners don’t appear to be phased.
Eric Simons, the bowling coach for the Chennai Super Kings, spoke up regarding Dube’s form and stated that the team is not concerned about one or two poor outings because the middle order has been the team’s strength all season long.
When anything goes wrong once or twice, I don’t think it’s a big deal, and we won’t worry too much about the middle order. Although it may not have occurred in this game, we are aware of its quality. However, we expect to fire again as we move forward, as Eric Simons was cited by Cricbuzz.

In the 53rd match of the championship, the Chennai Super Kings faced the Punjab Kings. On Sunday, May 5, both teams squared off in Dharamshala’s HPCA Stadium. Chennai, who batted first, scored 167 runs in the first inning and went on to win by a final score of 28 runs. The five-time champions were still short of the 15-20 runs needed for a par total, though, according to seasoned all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Since it was a day game, we were prepared for a slow surface. Although we performed effectively in the powerplay [with the ball], we were unable to form alliances. Our goal was to form partnerships so that we could score rapidly in the final four to five overs. We fared well as a bowling group, but no partnerships materialized. During the powerplay, Tushar [Deshpande] secured significant wickets. Then, in the middle overs, Mitch [Santner] and I performed well,” Jadeja remarked.
