Ricky Ponting, the former captain of Australia, disclosed that he has over a thousand bats in his collection at home. The 49-year-old continued by saying that it contains every bat he has used to strike a century in international cricket. Ponting also said that he had inscribed the score and the opposition on the bats he has used to score hundreds of runs. All of the bats are in excellent condition, he said, with the stickers still on them.
In February 1995, the two-time World Cup winning captain made his debut for his country against South Africa. A few months later, under Mark Taylor, he made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in red-ball cricket, scoring 96 runs in the opening innings. In the end, he amassed 71 international hundreds, good for third place on the list of cricketers with the most centuries in international competition. He is ahead of only Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar.
In addition, Ricky Ponting stated that, technically, his bats are kept in his garage rather than in his home.
Unbelievably, I still have my original bat at home. Everything, even the stickers, is still on it. By now, we’ve probably had a thousand bats, some of them more unique than the others. The Hindustan Times cited Ricky Ponting as saying, “I kept every bat I used to score an international hundred and I wrote the score and who it was against of.”
“Yes,” the bat from the 2003 World Cup says. It’s not as though I have it on show in my home. He continued, “I store those in my garage.”

Notably, Ponting is the Indian Premier League’s head coach of the Delhi Capitals at the moment. With eight points from nine games, the Capitals are currently sixth in the standings under his leadership. The Capitals can reclaim their spot in the major tournament playoffs if they can win the majority of their remaining games.
