Due to a hamstring injury, Delhi Capitals all-arounder Mitch Marsh will not play in the Indian Premier League in 2024. Earlier in the competition, the 32-year-old tore his right hamstring and had to return to Australia for more care. The cricket player has been disqualified from the competition because, as things stand, he won’t be able to heal in time.
Notably, Mitch Marsh is set to lead the Australian team in the forthcoming T20 World Cup as captain.
Although Marsh’s exact return date is unknown, it is expected that he will participate in the major tournament, which is scheduled to start on June 1. Nothing is certain yet, but the all-rounder might decide not to play in the practice matches to make sure he is healthy for the main round matchups.
However, the Delhi Capitals have not yet disclosed Marsh’s successor. Lungi Ngidi was previously replaced in DC by Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has performed admirably for the side. In light of this, DC may want to sign a pace bowler, particularly because Anrich Nortje isn’t playing well right now. Currently a free agent, Josh Hazlewood may be a great asset to the Washington team.
With three victories in eight games, the Rishabh Pant-led team is presently ranked seventh in the points table. The team cannot afford to lose any more points in order to make the playoffs.
