Ravi Shastri believes that the franchise could have minimised the anger by communicating more openly when naming their new skipper. The former head coach of India also said that some of the stories that are going around that are being credited to different people, including him, may not be true.
Since taking over for Rohit Sharma as the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) captain, Hardik Pandya has been subjected to intense criticism from the team’s supporters. In all three of MI’s current Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 games, the standout all-around player has been the target of jeers from the crowd.
“This isn’t the playing Indian cricket team. This cricket is played in franchises. They have made a high-end payment. They hold the authority.
They have the right to choose the skipper they like, Ravi Shastri stated on Star Sports.
Alright, so a clearer communication strategy would have helped to handle this situation more effectively. Say we are looking to the future if you want Hardik Pandya to be captain. Shastri then gave Hardik advice to keep his cool and focus just on his performance on the pitch. In spite of MI’s difficult beginning under Hardik’s direction, he underlined that they are still a strong team in the competition. In addition, he was upbeat about their chances of making a significant comeback if they could just rediscover their groove. It is important to note that the five-time winners had a poor start, dropping their first three games, and are now at the bottom of the standings.

Hardik should take my advice to be composed, patient, unaffected, and to concentrate solely on his game. Launch into a few performances. The Mumbai Indians are an excellent side.
