“Take the pressure and let the ball take care of the rest.” – Matthew Hayden’s guidance when dealing with Mayank Yadav

You have to let the ball come to you in order to play someone with that level of speed. "Avoid trying to push it off the front or back foot," Hayden said.

"Take the pressure and let the ball take care of the rest." - Matthew Hayden's guidance when dealing with Mayank Yadav
Matthew Hayden, an ex-Australian cricket player, discussed Mayank Yadav‘s bowling.

Steve Smith, an Australian cricketer, has shared his thoughts on how teams should match Mayank Yadav’s pace. The teenage bowler has been stunning both analysts and fans in the IPL with his raw pace and disciplined bowling. With his performances being crucial to Lucknow Super Giants’ victories over Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mayank became the first player in IPL history to earn Player of the Match in each of the league’s opening two games.

In my opinion, he did not bowl a slower ball. To score behind the wicket and force him to alter his game, they ought to be taking full advantage of his pace. His bowling pace is rapid, and the ball will accelerate if you get a bat on it, especially in the Chinnaswamy. So instead of trying to find your own tempo, try to use his a little bit more. On Star Sports’ Cricket Live Show, Smith stated, “Teams are currently struggling and falling far short.”

Speaking about Mayank Yadav’s performance against RCB, Smith said he was most pleased by the young player’s capacity to produce consecutive game-winning performances. Mayank was accountable for the removal of three prominent figures from the RCB middle order, guaranteeing that the hosts would consistently fall behind during the pursuit.

“You don’t need to worry about it right now because, if you look at all those balls, there wasn’t one slower ball there. Although we haven’t seen it yet, you can definitely rely on him to either get inside the queue or leave yourself a little leeway to use the pace and let it come to you.

What struck me as impressive is that he just played his first game. Naturally, there will be a lot of buzz about him, and a lot of guys have strong performances one game and then falter. However, he immediately returned, bowled like a true genius, and dismissed Patidar, Cameron Green, one of the world’s top fast bowlers, and one of the best T20 hitters, Glenn Maxwell. Three excellent players, then. Mayank Yadav; hence, keep the name in mind.”

Implying that letting the ball come to the bat rather than committing to a stroke is one strategy for handling the fast tempo. “One of the things that occurs in this competition is that every single one of the outstanding players who are observing him is formulating their game plans. It is difficult to hit if you hammer it for a long time at a quick tempo. You have to let the ball come to you in order to play someone with that level of pace. avoid attempting to push it off your front or back foot. The ball will take care of the rest if you just absorb the pressure due to the delivery’s speed.”
