IPL 2024: Who is Mayank Yadav? - Everything You Need to Know About LSG Fast bowler

During the current IPL 2024 season, Indian cricket fans have discovered a new fast-bowling sensation. For the Lucknow Super Giants against the Punjab Kings, right-arm bowler Mayank Yadav bowled the fastest ball of the season. In the opening ball of his second over, the 21-year-old bowled to Shikhar Dhawan at a pace of 155.8 KPH.

Veteran player Krunal Pandya gave Mayank Yadav his IPL debut cap on Saturday. The commentators appeared genuinely intrigued to watch the little player bowl before he even had a chance to start.

As soon as Mayank Yadav started bowling, the legendary Matthew Hayden could be heard praising him. The New Delhi pacer’s quick pace and bounce kept the veteran Punjab Kings hitters off balance.

Mayank Yadav: Breaking enormous records on his debut

In recent years, the Indian Premier League has given rise to a number of sensations. With his impressive quickness, Umran Malik quickly made an impression on everyone. He bowled the fastest ball by an Indian at 157 km/h during the 2022 Indian Premier League season.

Mayank Yadav, a native of New Delhi, was born on June 17, 2002, and is presently 21 years old. In 2022, the young player made his Ranji Trophy debut against Baroda, taking just one wicket.

With 34 wickets from 17 List A games and a best of 4/47, he has a far better record in the white-ball format. He has taken 12 wickets in 10 T20 matches at an economy rate of 6.44 runs per over. Within the domestic cricket circles, there were many whispers regarding his abilities. In front of a raucous crowd, Mayank Yadav’s IPL debut on Saturday was a memorable first performance.

Putting the LSG bowlers to the sword was Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow’s adamant goal. In the tenth over of the inning, young player Nicolas Pooran gave the ball to him, and he gave up 10 runs. The third ball of the over saw Mayank Yadav reach 150 km/h, which became the main talking point of the over.

The right-arm pacer achieved history at a speed of 155.8 KPH on his second over. This ball beat Nandre Burger’s record of 153 km/h to become the fastest of the IPL 2024 season. This young player has accomplished a remarkable feat, as this is the sixth fastest ball in league history.

Then, Mayank Yadav claimed Bairstow for 42 to record his first IPL victory. Prabhsimran Singh hit a snorter at 153 km/h with the very next ball. Before getting Prabhsimran Singh to take his second wicket, Yadav bowled at 152 KPH on the opening ball of the third over.

The boy gave it his all, hitting Jitesh Sharma for six runs. Yadav’s final over caused hearts to race with his ball deliveries of 153.4, 153.9, 148.6, 151.9, and 148 KPH. If he keeps up his current trajectory, Mayank Yadav will soon be a global topic of discussion.
