Afghanistan tour by Bangladesh is rescheduled

Rescheduled is the impending all-format away series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan that was initially scheduled to take place in July 2024, according to a big announcement made recently by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Recall that following the 2024 T20 World Cup, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) was scheduled to visit Bangladesh for a series of games that included two Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is.

Jalal Yunus, the chairman of BCB cricket operations, announced the rescheduling of the series. “The away series against Afghanistan will be rescheduled after both boards agreed to play the series at some other point in time,” Yunus said to Cricbuzz.

Interestingly, Ban was scheduled to play 12 Test matches in 2024, but due to a number of adjustments, they will only play eight of those matches. This does not imply, however, that the team will have an easy schedule, as they will be playing a two-match Test series in Pakistan following the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Subsequently, a series of two Test matches and three Twenty20 internationals will be played during the tour of India. In addition, South Africa will visit Bangladesh in late 2024 for a two-match Test series before playing two Tests, three ODIs, and three Twenty20 Internationals in November and December of that same year in the West Indies.

Bangladesh hopes to tie the Test series with Sri Lanka.

Concerning the team’s current tasks, Bangladesh is presently engaged in a two-game Test series against Sri Lanka. Bangladesh lost the first Test match they hosted against Sri Lanka despite the visitors’ impressive performance.

But in the second and last test of the series, the hosts, under the leadership of Najmul Hossain Shanto, would try to do better. On March 30, both teams took to the pitch for the second Test at Chattogram’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
