To replace the injured Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) named Allah Ghazanfar, and Rajasthan Royals (RR) added Keshav Maharaj to the team in place of Prasidh Krishna for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
In two ODIs, Allah Ghazanfar has played for Afghanistan. The youthful player has participated in three Twenty20 matches and six List-A matches, amassing five and four wickets, respectively. With a base salary of INR 20 lakh, he joins KKR.
Following surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon, Prasidh Krishna is currently recuperating. The experienced South African batsman who replaced him, Keshav Maharaj, has taken 237 wickets in international cricket while playing in 50 Tests, 44 ODIs, and 27 T20Is. In addition, he can contribute with some useful runs and has played 159 Twenty20 matches, taking 130 wickets. His base salary of INR 50 lakh is what RR has accepted him for.
The following game pits KKR versus RCB
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur will host Rajasthan’s next match on Thursday, March 28, where they will square off against Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals (DC). The next match for KKR, on the other hand, is scheduled for Friday against rival Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Both teams prevailed in their respective opening games, which is noteworthy.

The Sanju Samson-led team is now ranked second, just behind the four-point Chennai Super Kings, with two points and an NRR of 1.000. Since CSK has a far higher run rate (1.979) than RR, a victory in the next match is probably not going to affect RR’s standings.
