The reason Virat Kohli of Royal Challengers Bengaluru is regarded as one of the greatest T20 cricket players of all time was demonstrated once again. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is currently in progress. Kohli led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to an exciting four-wicket victory against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a spectacular match-winning innings. His brilliant 77 off 49 balls was his 100th fifty-plus score in Twenty20 cricket, making him the first Indian and only the third player in history to achieve the feat.
With an average of 41.26, Kohli has amassed 12,092 runs in 378 T20 cricket matches so far. With eight centuries in the format, the star hitter has an outstanding record. The offensive hitter is sixth overall and has the most runs among Indians in 20-over cricket.
While representing India against Afghanistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup, Kohli achieved his greatest individual score in T20 cricket, hitting an undefeated 122 off just 61 deliveries at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Chris Gayle of the West Indies, however, is topping the charts. Over the course of his career, Gayle has scored more than fifty times (110 total), including 22 hundreds. The legendary Australian batsman David Warner is ranked second with 109 occasions when he scored fifty or more, eight of them being hundreds.

With 177 needed to win, RCB had trouble early on and were losing ground at 43/2. When Jonny Bairstow failed to make a catch off the second ball of the inning, the 35-year-old had already been given a lifeline. The chase master took over at that point. Kohli maintained his composure and continued his bat deep into the innings even as wickets were falling at the other end.
Kohli persevered, reaching his fifty, even though his partner at the other end was constantly switching. Following his catch by a Harshal Patel delivery in the sixteenth over, RCB needed 47 off 24 balls. Finally, Dinesh Karthik (28* off 10) and Mahipal Lomror (17* off 8) produced a spectacular cameo to lead the Faf du Plessis-led team to their maiden season win.
