Regarding India's domestic calendar, Rahul Dravid said, "Need to hear your players."

In order to address significant problems with the Ranji Trophy and domestic cricket in general, India head coach Rahul Dravid has pushed for a thorough investigation involving coaches and players. In response to a question concerning the steps the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should take in light of Shardul Thakur’s concerns regarding injuries brought on by hectic schedules, he made these remarks.

According to Rahul Dravid, a few players expressed their displeasure with the domestic tournament’s intermission. The former cricket player suggested that the BCCI take into account players who have firsthand experience with the challenges.

“I have also heard similar things. Shardul Thakur made certain remarks that I believe I saw, and some of the [new] youngsters who have joined the team have also stated similar things. Some people make remarks about how difficult the domestic schedule is, particularly given the volume of travel required in a nation like India. Yes, we do require the players’ voices.

According to ESPNcricinfo, Rahul Dravid stated, “That’s a very important thing in a lot of these things.”

“It’s important that you pay attention to your players, since they are the ones who put in the most effort and risk their lives. If enough people express this sentiment, we should examine our scheduling practices. India’s season is already quite long. It’s difficult. “continued.

The senior men’s domestic calendar kicked off in June 2023 with the Duleep Trophy. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy came next in October, and the Ranji Trophy—the top domestic competition—was set to begin in January 2024. Because there were only three days off between matches in the Ranji Trophy tournament, players were forced to travel. For example, the teams competing in the Ranji Trophy final on March 10—Mumbai and Vidarbha—have played ten first-class matches in less than ten weeks.
