After the Rajkot game, Anil Kumble orders Yashasvi Jaiswal to bowl as well, saying, "Go tell the skipper to give a few overs."

After smashing back-to-back double-centuries against England in the current five-match Test series, Yashasvi Jaiswal is garnering high accolades from both fans and experts. The great Anil Kumble, nevertheless, is keen for the southpaw to demonstrate his bowling abilities as well.

In 32 appearances, the 22-year-old has taken seven wickets at an average of 36.71 in List A cricket. Yashasvi gained three wickets with his leg-spin bowling in the 2020 U19 World Cup, finishing as the top run scorer. Still, he hasn’t bowled in an international cricket match.

After the third Test in Rajkot, Anil Kumble, the former captain of India, advised Yashasvi to focus on honing his bowling technique.

Kumble also advised the young player to persuade Rohit Sharma, the captain, to give him some overs to bowl.

“Excellent job at hitting. However, you have a natural ability to twist your legs, which is something I have noticed and I want you to keep doing. Indeed, along with action. Thus, keep trying with that. Because you never know when anything like that will be useful. you’re working so hard on it, even though you know you’ve had a back spasm. Kumble instructed Jaiswal on Jio Cinema to “go tell the skipper to give a few overs.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal responded, “I’m always going and bowling, bowling and bowling.” When Rohit asked if I was ready, I responded, “Yes, I am.”

I always aim to go big when I’m set. Yashasvi Jaiswal

In the Rajkot Test, the Mumbai batsman amassed 214 from 236 balls without losing, but at first he took his time. Despite his century on Day 3, he was forced to retire due to injury as he struggled with spasms. On Day 4, though, he returned to bat and recorded his best test score. After settling into his crease, Jaiswal stated that he attempts to rack up large scores.

Although test cricket is challenging, I felt that I had to give it everything I had. I’m only attempting. I always aim to go big when I’m set. Because in Test cricket, one never knows what will happen; if one is performing well, one must go far,” Jaiswal remarked.

“I was having trouble at first because I wasn’t getting runs. therefore needed to set up and play the session. At that point, I thought I could score runs. My back started to hurt after a while. if it was too much, I had to leave the field, even if I didn’t want to. I wanted to make sure that I carried the game to the conclusion when I came today,” he continued.
