On Day 3 of the ongoing third Test match between England and India in Rajkot, England’s Jonny Bairstow was removed for a duck, causing him to suffer disappointment once more. With his seventh duck in Test cricket against India, he unintentionally set a record for the most ducks by any hitter against the home team.
Throughout the series, Bairstow has struggled against the Indian bowling assault; his most recent dismissal has made matters worse. The 34-year-old cricketer was facing Kuldeep Yadav, but he was unable to create an impression and was out for a four-ball duck.

After Joe Root was removed from the game with England at 224 for three, Bairstow’s innings was cut short. He did, however, just have to deal with two deliveries from Kuldeep Yadav before being declared leg before wicket on the fourth. Bairstow was caught off guard by the ball’s sudden turn, and he left the field without adding a point to the score.
With this wicket, Bairstow became the most unwanted person on the list after it was his eighth duck in Test matches against India. His troubles against the Indian bowling attack have been apparent thus far in the series, as he has not scored many significant runs. Bairstow has not registered a fifty-plus score and has only scored 98 runs at an average of 19.60 in five innings despite playing five innings.

Anil Kumble, a former Indian spinner, commended Kuldeep Yadav for the delivery that resulted in Bairstow’s removal. On JioCinema, Kumble stated, “Kuldeep bowled incredibly well. The path he took when bowling to left-handers. After he had Jonny Bairstow out for LBW, he bowled brilliantly. The key was his trajectory; he bowled significantly more quickly, got spin from the surface, and had perfect variations, even troubling Dhruv Jurel behind the stumps.”
