When asked about his son Sarfaraz Khan's postponed India debut, his father responds in a beautiful manner 'Raat ko waqt chahiye guzarne ke liye..'

After wearing the national colours for the first time in the third Test of the current five-match series against England in Rajkot, Sarfaraz Khan became the 311th player to represent India in Test cricket. Not only did Sarfaraz take center stage, though; his father, Naushad Khan, also made his commentary box debut and basked in the spotlight.

Sarfaraz Khan’s rise to the Indian cricket team has been earned via perseverance, many hours of hard work, and devotion. This voyage has been greatly aided by his father, Naushad Khan, who also acts as his coach. Emotions ran high as Sarfaraz’s wife and Naushad hugged the young cricket player, their tears capturing the significance of the occasion as Sarfaraz accepted his Test cap from Anil Kumble

The father of Sarfaraz Khan debuts as a commentator

In response to his son’s delayed debut, Naushad Khan made his commentary debut and delivered a moving speech. “Did you wait for too long to see Sarfaraz Khan making his debut?” questioned Khan’s father, a former Indian cricketer who was present on the commentary panel.

said Naushad, “Raat ko waqt chahiye guzarne ke liye, lekin Suraj meri marzi se nahi nikalne wala {it takes time for the night to pass, the sun is not going to rise according to my wish}.”

Sarfaraz Khan’s selection came as a result of his reliable performances for India A and in domestic cricket. Dhruv Jurel received his debut cap in addition to the 26-year-old cricket player.

India won the third test and elected to bat first after winning the toss. Rohit Sharma (87) and Ravindra Jadeja (54), the captain, were instrumental in giving the home team the advantage. With 165/3 in their current batting order, India hopes to end the first day of play in a dominant position. Although they haven’t yet taken the field together, Khan and Jurel are both eager to play for their respective countries.
