After being out of the IPL since December 2023, Indian bowler Deepak Chahar is preparing for a determined comeback. He intends to improve his bowling pace and batting versatility, so the break will give him the chance to hone his craft. His father’s illness prevented him from playing in the Twenty20 International matches against Afghanistan and South Africa; hence, his absence was due to family duties.
His most recent appearances were likewise in the Australia series; however, they were brief. He’ll be hoping for a comeback in the upcoming IPL season and to make the 2024 T20 World Cup team. This tournament is crucial for him to demonstrate his skills and establish his credentials for the international event that will begin in the West Indies and the United States of America in June.
“You’re not becoming stronger when you’re playing or in rehab. Your body’s strength is diminishing. So, for me or any athlete, now is the appropriate moment. You have to get stronger in the 1.5 or 2 months that you have. Your pace will also rise as your strength increases. Thus, yes, I was over 140 ks when I played in 2018,” Deepak Chahar stated, according to an ESPNcricinfo statement.
“Your pace decreases and you miss out on strength training when you play frequently.” It’s appropriate for me to pick up the pace now. I’ve clearly been bowling and hitting well in terms of skill. Since you can only play three or four balls when you bat at No. 8 or No. 9, I’m also attempting to improve a few shots with the bat. Thus, you need to use those balls with various shots,” he continued.
This IPL, CSK is not looking forward to Deepak Chahar as a batter.
