Following the historic Sydney victory, Marizanne Kapp remarked, "It's a proud moment for South African cricket as a whole."
The triumph, according to Marizanne Kapp, who played a Player of the Match performance in the second ODI at the North Sydney Oval on February 7, made all of South African cricket proud.

In the rain-shortened match, South Africa defeated Australia by 84 runs using the DLS technique, thanks to the medium-fast bowler’s display of her skill with the bat and ball. For the first time in their ODI history, the 34-year-old believes she accomplished a wonderful feat by helping her team reach the finish line against Australia, scoring 75 off 87 deliveries and grabbing three for 12.

“It’s a proud moment for South African cricket as a whole, not just for me. As everyone knows, in a one-day match, we have never defeated Australia. As a result, it is a huge accomplishment for me to be able to play and lead my team to victory, according to Kapp.

Two rain delays hampered the visitors’ batting after they were invited to bat first. Though Marizanne Kapp expressed concern that the pitch would get too wet, she nevertheless played a resolute knock that enabled the Proteas to set a score of 229 in a reduced 45-over inning.

“It went alright initially, but after a while, I think I became a little impatient because I was concerned the wicket might get too wet and make things harder later on. One or two balls really popped at me, especially off a length, and I felt like it got pretty challenging towards the conclusion of the batting session. I anticipated difficulty. That being said, I knew Australia would have to come up with a response as well. Therefore, it was a reciprocal relationship,” she said.
