Brendon McCullum, the head coach of England, expressed his admiration for the spinners’ performance in the second Test match against India in Visakhapatnam. Shoaib Bashir, making his debut in international cricket, took four wickets in his first Test match, Tom Hartley took five, and Rehan Ahmed took six in his third. The spinners have lived up to their potential throughout the encounter, taking 15 wickets, despite their youth and inexperience.
Regarding their development, Brendon McCullum praised captain Ben Stokes for supporting them and making effective use of them during the game.
He went on to say that the all-rounder’s extensive time spent with the spinners had aided in their development in international cricket. The 42-year-old expressed his satisfaction with the spinners’ growth and said that they showed a lot of grit.

Sky Sports quoted Stokes as saying, “I am absolutely delighted in how they have performed with very little experience under their belt.”
“I attribute it to the captain. He is really kind and fully believes in the ways he uses them. He takes time getting to know them in order to make sure that his body language and actions convey the same message. He provides opportunities on the field to support his words. The 32-year-old continued, “He is driven to lead this team and wants to take it as far as he can.”
As the series stands at one-all, England lost the second Test with a score of 106 runs. Following the game, the foreign players departed India for Abu Dhabi, where they would continue their preparations and return a few days before the third Test in Rajkot.
