On Wednesday, January 31, Nagpur Police executed a non-bailable arrest warrant for former Indian cricketer Prashant Vaidya in connection with a case involving cheque-bouncing. As per a police spokesperson, the 56-year-old appeared before a court and was later freed on a surety bond.
After buying steel, Prashant Vaidya supposedly wrote a check to a nearby merchant, but it bounced. Inspector Vitthal Singh Rajput of the Bajaj Nagar police station was notified by the vendor that he was demanding a new payment after this.
The trader was forced to go to court after the former India player failed to pay, according to a story in Hindustan Times, and the court issued a non-bailable warrant against him for missing court dates. The former right-arm bowler is currently in charge of the Vidarbha Cricket Association’s Cricket Development Committee.
