Anil Kumble is willing to launch an all-spin assault during the Vizag Test

Kuldeep Yadav is expected to return to the playing XI for the second Test of the five-match series against England, as Ravindra Jadeja is out. India lost the first Test by 28 runs and are now down 1-0 in the series despite fielding Ravichandran Ashwin, Jadeja, and Axar Patel. After that, Kumble discussed the possibility of starting Kuldeep, who has taken 34 wickets in eight Test matches.

The former India captain suggested that Kuldeep’s adjustments might help the Rohit Sharma-led team in Vizag for the second Test, but he wasn’t entirely sure if the hosts should have four spinners in the middle. He added that the pace on the wicket will be quicker and that the surface for the second Test might again favour the spinners.

“I’m not sure if you actually require a fourth spinner. Kuldeep will be helpful, though, if India decides they only need one fast bowler. Although he will change, England will visit and carry out the same actions that they did in Hyderabad. We anticipate a quicker pace than this and this wicket may be a turning point, Anil Kumble stated on JioCinema.

India must undoubtedly adopt a more cautious approach. Anil Kumble

The 53-year-old expressed dissatisfaction with India’s strategy during the first Test in Hyderabad and predicted that they would submit in the second game of the series. He said that several hitters’ approaches were inadequate, and their footwork was also below his expectations.

Although it moved slowly, this was a good wicket if you put in the work. In my opinion, a few batters’ approaches weren’t encouraging, and their footwork wasn’t what was expected, so India needs to toughen up when it comes to batting against spin, Anil Kumble continued.

Interestingly, the series’ second test is scheduled to start on February 2.
