When India plays England in 2024, why won’t Kuldeep Yadav and James Anderson play in the first Test match?

Kuldeep Yadav and James Anderson play in the first Test match?

Axar Patel was chosen over Kuldeep Yadav in the highly anticipated opening Test of the five-match series between India and England in Hyderabad. This decision was made due to Patel’s versatility as a bowler and batsman as well as his familiarity with the difficult conditions. Furthermore, Rajat Patidar, who had been Virat Kohli’s substitute, was benched in favor of the somewhat seasoned KS Bharat, who took over wicketkeeping duties in Rishabh Pant’s absence, as he has in the past.

Tom Hartley, a left-arm spinner from Lancashire, will be making his Test debut for England. There were raised questions when James Anderson, a seasoned fast bowler with a strong record, was unexpectedly left out of the playing XI and Mark Wood was named the only pacer. England’s choice to make their squad public over 20 hours prior to the toss created an intriguing tension in the build-up to the crucial match in Hyderabad.

At the toss, what did the captains say?

“A bat will be available to us. It’s normal situations in India; you never know exactly what to expect. Our goal is to put up a large score on the board. There has been excellent preparation. We are aware of the difficulties that India poses for all visiting teams as well as for ourselves. They are a very prosperous side. Rehan is playing his second Test match, while Hartley is making his debut, but they have a fantastic mentor in Jack Leach to guide them. I fully trust each and every one of them. We selected a starting eleven that we believed would offer us the best chance of succeeding. “That X-factor bowler is Woody,” Stokes remarked.

“We also would have batted in. It appears parched. We have the abilities and the personnel to handle it for us, whether we choose to bat first or bowl first. I hope things work out nicely for us. I am playing five Test matches in this series, which is good for my first time. The men are anticipating it. It will be difficult, but we are prepared for it. We have already played in these circumstances. We are aware of what lies ahead and the steps we must take; the only things left to do are put your skills to use, support yourself, and muster the courage to seize the chance “said Rohit.

We gave leaving Kuldeep Yadav out a lot of thinking; it was a difficult decision.

“We have Bumrah, Siraj, Axar Patel, Ashwin, and Jadeja as our three spinners and our two seamers. Axar Patel hits exceptionally well in these situations and has performed well anytime he has played. The previous time we played against Australia, he received some really impressive scores. That’s probably why we chose Axar,” Rohit continued.

India’s playing eleven is Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, and Srikar Bharat (w).

Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes (w), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood, Jack Leach, and Zak Crawley are the members of the England playing XI.
