The Chattogram Challengers have signed Josh Brown, a batter for the Brisbane Heat, to compete in the Bangladesh Premier League. The 30-year-old will join the team on January 26 in time for their matches in Sylhet, the team announced on Wednesday, January 24 to their supporters. The Challengers have defeated Durdanto Dhaka and Sylhet Strikers in two of their three season-opening victories, giving them a strong start to the campaign.
Notably, Josh Brown broke records in the Big Bash League 2023–24 Challenger match against Adelaide Strikers by hitting an incredible 140 (57) balls, which included ten fours and twelve sixes—the most in a single BBL innings. Off just 41 balls, he also scored the second-fastest century in BBL history.
In the last over, Brown once again shone, hitting a stunning half-century (53 off 38) to help his team reach 166/8 in the 20 overs that were allowed. In the end, the total proved sufficient as Brisbane defeated Sydney Sixers by 54 runs to win their second BBL championship.
AAP reported that before the BBL final, Brown’s management received proposals from the BPL and ILT20, and the cricket player indicated interest in the agreements.

Following Mohammad Haris’ withdrawal from the BPL due to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) denial of his NoC, Brown has signed. In addition to Brown, Chattogram has signed daring English batsman Phil Salt, who will join the team following his SA20 and ILT20 commitments.
At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Saturday, January 27, the Chattogram Challengers will next play Fortune Barishal. With two victories from three games and four points overall, they are now sitting second on the points table.
