Mohammed Shami, a prominent fast bowler for India, is apparently planning to visit England to see a specialist regarding his ankle ailment, which has prevented him from playing since the 2023 ODI World Cup. Notably, the speedster persevered despite his injuries to finish as the World Cup’s top wicket-taker with 24 wickets from just seven games.
Mohammed Shami‘s recuperation is reportedly going well, and the National Cricket Academy’s (NCA) medical staff is happy with his development. After being ruled out of the two-match Test series against South Africa, the 33-year-old began his training session with the intention of playing in the forthcoming five-match Test series against England.
Mohammed Shami was left out of the starting lineup for the first two Test matches against England, though, since he was unable to recuperate in time.
Shami, who worked on his injury with Nitin Patel, the head of the NCA’s Sports Science section, is reportedly set to travel to London shortly, according to a report in Cricbuzz.
The article goes on to say that wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant of the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) may also be sent to London. Notably, following his horrifying vehicle accident on December 30, 2022, the 26-year-old has been undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA and has made incredible progress in his healing.

Pant is expected to make a return in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. In addition to Pant, it will take another month for Mumbai batsman Prithvi Shaw—who has been recovering from a knee injury—to return to competitive cricket. While Shaw undergoes rehabilitation at the NCA, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is hoping that he would return for the Ranji Trophy’s final rounds.
In August 2023, the 24-year-old sustained an injury while representing Northamptonshire versus Durham in the Royal London One Day Cup.
