An FIR (first information report) has been filed against the same website and its Facebook page shortly after former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar called out a gaming website for using his voice and face in a deepfake video to promote their own brand. The former cricket player was shown in the edited video discussing how he and his daughter have made money playing an online game.
The proprietor of the Facebook page and the gaming website is still unknown despite the FIR. Ramesh Pardhe, Sachin Tendulkar’s personal assistant, submitted a complaint, leading Mumbai’s West Region cyber police to file a formal complaint. According to the complaint, Tendulkar appeared in an altered old YouTube video that was used to advertise the video game “Skyward Aviator Quest.”
Sachin Tendulkar recently used X (previously known as Twitter) to alert his admirers to the deepfake video and draw attention to the troubling misuse of technology.
“These are not real videos. The widespread misuse of technology is unsettling. We kindly ask everyone to report these kinds of movies, advertisements, and apps in bulk. Social media sites must be vigilant and quick to address grievances. Sachin Tendulkar recently tweeted, “They must act quickly to curb the spread of misinformation and deepfakes.

The IPC’s Section 500 and the IT Act’s Section 66, which deal with defamation, are the legal bases for this lawsuit. It’s also interesting to note that Pardhe has filed two complaints in recent months on Tendulkar’s behalf.
A website has utilized the 50-year-old’s name and picture to promote herbal items back in May 2023. In addition, recently, Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw revealed that a letter had been sent to a number of social media companies instructing them to try to remove all of the disinformation that was on their platforms.
