For the 2023 World Test Championship final match against Australia, Ajinkya Rahane was called up when Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul were unavailable for selection. Notably, in 85 Test matches played so far, the 35-year-old has scored 5077 runs at an average of 38.46 while representing India. He also discussed his objective for the current season, which is to win the Ranji Trophy.
