Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, wins by a wide majority in the general election

Following the BNP’s (Bangladesh National Party) demand for a boycott, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the general election with a resounding victory. The 36-year-old won the election by a margin of more than 150,000 votes, according to Abu Naser Beg, the top administrator of the Magura district, who confirmed the recent event.

Shakib Al Hasan was seen slapping a supporter in front of a sizable crowd just after the outcome was revealed, though. The all-around player is receiving a lot of criticism on social media as a result of the same, albeit the specifics have not yet been made public.

The cricket player, however, has not yet shared his thoughts on his enormous win. Following the ODI World Cup, he became a member of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League Party and began campaigning in the Magura area. Among other things, he was seen playing tennis ball cricket and taking photographs with supporters.

The primary opposition to Hasina’s political organization has chosen to abstain from the general election, meaning that the organization will be holding elections for the fifth time in a row. Furthermore, since additional information will surface in the next few days, it is unknown if the cricket player will occupy a prominent position in the legislature.

But Shakib Al Hasan has made it clear that he has not yet made an announcement about his retirement.

The all-rounder has decided not to play in the next Indian Premier League, but it is possible that he will participate in the June 1st T20 World Cup. In the next few days, it is anticipated that he will reconcile his responsibilities as a lawmaker and a cricket player.

As the captain of the Bangladeshi team during his absence, Najmul Hussain Shanto has performed admirably. Following the recent tour to New Zealand, head coach Chandika Hathurusingha was delighted with the cricketer’s leadership qualities and has since backed him to take the captaincy of the national team full-time. He has, however, delegated the choice to the selectors.
