“To be honest, it’s depressing to see. Although I can appreciate South Africa’s logic, I think Test cricket is the best. In my view, it should be ranked ahead of all domestic competitions worldwide. “The most crucial thing is to play for your country,” Michael Clarke stated in an interview with ESPN’s Around the Wicket.
“I don’t believe that many people around the globe do not fear the direction that Test cricket is taking. We must look for a way to make things work. In life, money seems to be the answer to a lot of problems. Firstly, let’s pay the same match fee to every Test cricket player. Australia, England, and India should not be given priority. The former captain of Australia said, “Let’s make sure every country gets that same fee.”

Earlier, in a statement released on Wednesday, Cricket South Africa (CSA) reaffirmed their respect for Test matches, even if they prioritize limited-overs cricket. In 2023, there were only four Test matches, so lesser formats took center stage. The Proteas Test team will be led by uncapped captain Neil Brand in New Zealand, highlighting the side’s commitment to developing younger players in preparation for the forthcoming series.
