Rohit Sharma alludes to continuing with Prasidh Krishna in the Cape Town Test by saying, "You got to show some faith."

As they play South Africa in the second Test on Wednesday, January 2, at Newlands, Cape Town, Team India will be driven to pull off a spectacular comeback in the two-match Test series. In the first game at Centurion, the Rohit Sharma-led team was beaten by an innings and 32 runs after failing to achieve 400 runs in two innings and being bowled out for 245 and 131, respectively.

The top-ranked Test team in the world will therefore be desperate to win the second Test in order to avoid suffering another series defeat in South Africa. Prior to the match, India’s skipper Rohit Sharma made a suggestion that he would continue to trust Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur, even though their performances in the first Test were below average.

“I continue to believe that occasionally we lack a little experience in bowling, and when that occurs, you have to have some faith in them. Have faith in them, and any team can experience that. Naturally, though, as I mentioned during the previous post-match news conference with Prasidh Krishna first game, we’re all anxious when we play our first game. According to Hindustan Times, Sharma stated, “It makes sense.”

Notably, Krishna scored 1/93 in 20 overs during his Test debut, according to Sharma, who claimed that the opener was anxious. He still feels, nevertheless, that he has what it takes to do well in tests.

“I stand by my previous assessment, stating that he has a strong chance of succeeding at this level and particularly in this format. It’s simply a matter of having faith and trust in each other and relying on them to do the task at hand, he continued.

Krishna was observed working on his line and length with Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey during the team’s December 30 practice session in Centurion. On Monday, January 1st, in Cape Town, he was also spotted bowling with Jasprit Bumrah and Muhammad Siraj.

Speaking further ahead of schedule, the Indian captain disclosed that they haven’t decided on a playing eleven yet and that everyone is fit to play.

There is no concern about injuries, and everyone is eligible for selection. Rohit Sharma

“Even though we’ve had a quick discussion about our expectations for the game and the bowlers with the management and coaching staff, we haven’t fully decided on our playing lineup. Everyone is obviously open to selection. No injuries are a concern. Everyone in this room is free to play. We’ll have dinner together later,” he remarked.

It’s noteworthy that India has lost four Test matches and drawn two at Cape Town, meaning they haven’t won a match there in six attempts. After losing seven of their last eight Test series in South Africa, the Asian giants will be anxious to win this one in order to tie their second Test series there.
